  • Don’t forget to check your email inbox, click the button in the email to verify your email address with us.
  • If we do not receive a verification email from you, your interest is not logged, and you will not receive information from Research Helper.

Once you have completed the form and applied to be a Research Helper for a specific paid research project on our current projects page:

You will receive an email from Research Helper asking you to verify your email address; by clicking the button in the email you opt-in to receive information from us:

  • Don’t forget to check your email inbox, click the button in the email to verify your email address with us.
  • If we do not receive a verification email from you, your interest is not logged, and you will not receive information from Research Helper.

When we receive your verification email (this email is sent to you after you complete the form, on the relevant project page, and click the [Apply] button):

  • Your interest is logged, and you are on our panel of Research Helpers.

We will send you an email when the research project is happening, to check if you still want to take part, when you are available, and if you are able to take part in the research session (also known as a screener email).

  • Applying for a specific research project usually means filling in a detailed screener questionnaire that should take around 5 – 7 minutes to complete.

If you have any questions our friendly, professional, research recruitment team will be happy to help, there are lots of ways to contact the team, click to go to the Contact Us section for details.

We want everyone from all backgrounds and of all abilities to take part in research.

However, some projects have very specific requirements and the people we are looking for must meet the requirements of the research to take part.

  • Our Participant Recruitment team are constantly reviewing our valuable panel of Researcher Helpers to see who best meets the needs of the project and might be interested in taking part in the research.

Unfortunately, this means that not everyone who applies to take part will be picked for the research project.

  • If the project requirements don’t match your interests, experiences, and requirements, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.

Don’t get discouraged, we have lots of paid research projects happening all the time!

  • Keep an eye out for upcoming research projects, check your email, and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
  • Don’t miss out on projects that might be of interest to you, ensure your profile is up to date.
  • If your situation has changed Contact Us and we’ll update your information.

Congratulations, you’ve been selected to take part in the research project.

You’ll be notified by email that you have moved to the next stage.

  • Depending on the project and how long it takes to get the screener ready (email questionnaire) and the research day session set-up, it could take 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months before we get back to you.

Just hold tight for now! We'll be in touch by email as soon as we are project-ready.

One of our friendly team will get in touch with you via email and phone:

  • You will receive a screener email asking you to complete a questionnaire that should take around 5 – 7 minutes to complete.
  • Once we receive your complete screener questionnaire email, we will arrange a call at a convenient time for you.

This initial call is to chat through your application, check we have all the right information and schedule in a time for your research session to take place.

Our recruiter team will talk to you about agreeing a time that works for both you and the researcher and will check if your circumstances have changed.

  • If we are unable to find a time that works for both you and the researcher, or if your circumstances have changed, since you applied to take part in the project, there is a small chance that you might not be able to take part in the research session.

Our team will discuss all this on the call with you.

Once we have everything agreed via email and phone, we can schedule your research session.

  • You will have the contact details and the mobile number of your research recruiter, who is your point of contact should you have any questions or need help regarding the research session.

Your research recruiter will send you a confirmation via email and/or text message and they will also send you a reminder 24 hours before your research session is due to take place.

If your circumstances change, or you need to re-schedule, don’t worry! Just let us know:

  • Please contact your research recruiter on the mobile number they have provided as soon as you can, or Contact Us (to get hold of one of the team), and we’ll do our best to find an alternative time that works.
  • If you no longer can, or want to take part, drop us a message or give us a call, as soon as you can, so we can cancel your session.

The day of your research session has arrived! If you’re coming into our research facility in Leeds, be sure to leave plenty of time and aim to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled session start time. Report to reception and you’ll be met by one of our friendly team and shown into our research area.

If your research is taking place over telephone, we’ll call you at the agreed time, so make sure you’re near your phone and ready to take part.

If you’re taking part in an online session, we’ll send you an invite over email. Join the online meeting at the scheduled time and your researcher will guide you through the simple setup process.

As soon as your research session has ended, your researcher will validate your research session so it can move over to our payments team.

Incentives are paid as a bank transfer or voucher and are usually paid within 24 hours of your research session.
